Plant Power Task Force (PPTF) is a joint initiative of the Avatar Alliance Foundation and the Craig & Susan McCaw Foundation to raise awareness on the impact of animal agriculture on climate change and the environment — and illuminate plant-based food solutions.
Founded by Suzy Amis Cameron, James Cameron and Craig McCaw, PPTF employs a research, media and communications strategy to increase understanding of the links between animal agriculture, climate change and environment degradation and the role plant-based diets can play as part of the solution.
PPTF and their partners envision an environmentally sustainable world of abundant food, resilient and regenerating ecosystems, and healthy people enabled and nourished by plant-based diets, accessible to all.
-
“The average person has little to no awareness of the role our animal-based diet plays in climate change, or that livestock is responsible for 14.5% of annual human-made greenhouse gas emissions, more pollution than all the world’s vehicles combined.”
-
“The thing that became abundantly clear to us when we met with the experts who are working in nutrition and energy sustainability and climate change is that we can’t actually meet our emission goals if we don’t address animal agriculture, and that’s the thing that’s been left out of the conversation.”
